Zoo🐊
was inspired by a poem “Nostalgia” attributed to the enigmatic Denture, a supposed Malaysian poet whose existence remains unconfirmed. The poem tells the absurd story of a young boy who, while traveling to Africa with his family, witnesses each family member being devoured by wild beasts. Now, whenever he misses them, he visits the zoo. The tale is as outlandish as the legend surrounding Denture. Yet, beneath its ridiculousness lies a surprising depth of philosophy. Though the dark humor might mislead some readers, I find it both amusing and thought-provoking. To playfully contrast the poem’s tone, I chose a simple, whimsical design with vibrant colors.
Nostalgia
That year he went travelling with his family to Africa.
His dad was eaten by a lion.
His mother was eaten by a crocodile.
His sister was eaten by a tiger.
His brother was eaten by a panther.
Now,when he misses home,
he will go to the zoo.
